Grade Center: Tips for Managing the Grade Center
The Manage menu is accessed from the action bar in the Full Grade Center. This is where instructors can customize and manage the Grade Center for Grading Schemas, Grading Color Codes, Categories, Smart Views, Column Organization, and Row Visibility.
Grading Schemas — Grading schemas are used to display a letter grade instead of a numeric grade. A percentage is calculated from the actual points scored compared to the total points possible and is mapped to a range.
Grading Color Codes — Grading Color Codes create visual indicators for performance. The instructor creates rules to apply background and text color to items that meet the specified criteria.
Categories — Categories are used to group related columns together allowing the instructor to organize and view the Grade Center data as well as calculate weighted grades.
Smart Views — Smart views are focused views of the Grade Center to allow the instructor to quickly find data and make decisions about student learning. Smart Views are created using variety of criteria and saved for continued use.
Column Organization — The column organization page displays all the Grade Center columns on one page in list view. The instructor can reorder columns, freeze/unfreeze column in the first table, hide/show columns, and change column categories.
