Assistive Technology: Alternative Text for Images
Alternative Text (a.k.a. Alt Text) is used to provide a description and function of an image on a web page. People using screen readers will be read a description of the image. Also, if an image will not load, viewers will be able to read the description.
When you upload a photo to Blackboard, ALLY will identify whether the photo has alternative text.
A green meter indicates the photo has alternative text attached.
A red meter indicates the photo needs alternative text attached.
Selecting the meter will open up the ALLY option to add alternative text or indicate the photo is decorative only.
