Deleting Unused Files

There are two primary reasons to delete unused files from your Blackboard Ultra course. First, it can help improve accessibility. Second, your course may be exceeding its file-size limit. The good news is that Blackboard Ultra provides simple tools to find and remove unused files.

From the Course Content area of your course click on the three dots (...) just to the right of the search icon and choose Unused Files:

The Unused Files interface will open, listing all of the unused files in the course. There is a download button to the right of each file, which can be used if you want to archive a copy outside of Blackboard. There is a checkbox to the left of each filename. You can use this checkbox to select files for deletion. The checkbox at the top will select them all. At the bottom of the current page, there will be a list to go to additional pages for course shells that contain many unused files.

Once you’ve selected the files you want to delete, press the Delete Files button to complete the process.
