Providing Feedback for SoftChalk Activities in Blackboard Ultra

In Blackboard Ultra, the Feedback & Notes panel does not include a comment field for items delivered through LTI tools. Blackboard documents that Ultra does not display feedback added via LTI, and entering feedback for LTI-based items is not supported.

Because SoftChalk grades are passed to Ultra through LTI, instructor feedback for a student’s attempt must be entered in SoftChalk, not in the Ultra gradebook.

How to Add Feedback in SoftChalk

To provide feedback for a SoftChalk lesson:

1. Open the lesson in SoftChalk Cloud.
2. Go to ScoreCenter.
3. Select the student’s attempt.
4. Enter your comments directly in ScoreCenter.

How Students View Feedback

Students can view instructor feedback by opening the same SoftChalk lesson link in Blackboard Ultra and selecting Feedback and Previous Attempts after the lesson loads.
