Best Practices: Use Scripts When Creating Video or Audio Content
The ADA requires all videos in courses to have captions. Open captions appear on the screen at all times and are viewable by everyone. Closed captions are accessed by clicking the CC button on the video player.
Reading from a script is a sure way to keep your presentation on track. It also provides a quick way for the DEIS staff to create caption files for your presentations. If the presentation is audio only, a script can be posted for the hearing impaired, as well as ESL students.
